The Simphony POS system is an ever evolving product with multiple new versions being released every year. Many users keep their systems up to date with the latest and greatest versions, but how does that affect extension applications and other third party systems running on Simphony? 

Most OTMS interfaces are implemented as what is known as an extension application, a SIM or DLL script that is installed on Simphony to provide additional functionality. It is critical that extension applications are thoroughly tested and updated for the new versions of Simphony being installed. While the difference between two versions may not even be immediately apparent in the user’s day to day operations, there are always improvements made behind the scenes. 

Thankfully as an Oracle partner OTMS is an early adopter of the Simphony product. Which means we are able to install new versions in our lab before they are released to ensure that our customers never experience a gap in functionality when upgrading. We have our support and implementations team regularly testing our entire catalog of Simphony interfaces to confirm that they are compatible, and make any necessary adjustments, as new versions are released. Our team is currently wrapping up interface testing for Simphony v19.6.
