An annual professional sporting event required a custom solution to track the meal allowances for the staff this year. On the Mark Solutions (OTMS) built a system that allowed for tracking and control of event staff meal allowances throughout the event.

The custom meal allowance system works with a Simphony First Edition POS interface. Staff use their ID to access their Meal Allowance balances. POS operators scan an ID and the interface validates their meal allowance privileges and balance and allows the charging of the transaction to their meal allowance account if applicable. Because the POS system is set up and taken down every year for the event, concerns about system stability were addressed by OTMS developing a stress test capability to run automated transactions on the POS system to simulate a high transaction volume. The interface also supported processing transactions in offline mode and then replaying offline transactions back automatically when the system came back online.
